Harvia R-995 Sauna Stones are rounded olivine diabase stones designed primarily for the upper layers of compatible electric sauna heaters and wood-burning sauna stoves. Inspired by naturally rounded stones found in flowing rapids, their smooth profile provides a distinctive appearance while influencing how water moves through the heater's stone bed. When water is poured over the rounded stones, it can flow between them toward the hotter angular stones below, distributing water across a larger heated surface. Harvia recommends combining R-995 rounded stones with appropriately sized angular stones in the lower layers, particularly in heaters with smaller stone capacities. Each box contains 44.1 lb (20 kg) of hand-selected grey olivine diabase stones ranging from 4–6 in (10–15 cm). Only available with the purchase of a Harvia sauna heater or stove.
